Jacob does Summer Symphony |
Jacob spent the first week of summer vacation participating in the Icicle Creek Youth Symphony. The program is a day camp like setting which pairs students of all ages & ability levels with instructors from around Washington State. The week long camp culminated in an outdoor chamber music performance at The Wood Shed, a local music conservatory. The children then took to the stage at The Performing Arts Center and dazzled their parents and peers with their hard work. "I'm going again next year!" said Jacob. [photo]

Walker & Knutson kids participate in Horse Camp |
Jacob, Ellen, Seth and Henry spent the week of July 24-28 participating in Horse Camp. They spent a portion of their mornings at the church sponsoring the camp, and then headed up to Icicle Creek Outfitters in Leavenworth. Jacob, Ellen & Seth all rode horses themselves the first day. Henry rode with an instructor the first day, and then graduated to his own horse the second day. Day 3 and 4 were spent at Eagle Outfitters, also in Leavenworth. "I want to ride a horse every day now," Henry was heard saying. The kids are already anticipating horse camp next year.

Tree House Nears Completion |
The two Mikes, Walker & Kontos have been busy at work on the Tree House Extraordinaire. Rough winds shook loose much of the ceiling earlier this spring. Walker & Kontos used glue and finish nails to hold the tiny pine planks in place this time. The carpet is down, as are the baseboards. The threshold is trimmed out in maple, and so is the entry hole. The wallpapering team is expected next week. Pictures to follow...
